Why does the unknown website ad keeps popping up?  

Let’s get rid of it once and for all!

Step 1

Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to start “Tast Manager”  à Process à delete svOhost.exe (Beware! Do not mistake it from the normal svChost.exe.)

 

Step 2

Start àRun à key in CMD and press enter that takes you to the command window.

C:\>cd\windows\system32

C:\windows\system32>attrib -r -h -s -a svohost.exe  (you need to change the attribute of the file before you can delete it)

C:\windows\system32>del svohost.exe

 

Step 3

Look up every disk, including your USB, MP3 player, and digital camera for “sxs.exe” and “autorun.inf”.  If you find them, delete them:

C:\ windows\system32> G:

G:\> attrib -r -h -s -a sxs.exe

G:\> attrib -r -h -s -a autorun.inf

G:\> del autorun.inf

 

Step 4

Start à Run à key in REGEDIT

Press Ctrl+F to find sxs.exe and delete it

Go to registry subkey: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Wndows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MountPoints2

If you find a registry with “autoboot”, delete it.

 

Now we can say “goodbye” to that mind-bothering worm now  ^_^Y
